What is The Florida Bar?
The Florida Bar is Florida's official organization of attorneys and judges.
Mission and Responsibilities
The Bar's mission is to "regulate the practice of law in Florida, promote the administration of justice, and increase the availability of legal services to the public."
To fulfill this mission, The Florida Bar:
- Licenses and disciplines attorneys
- Provides continuing legal education
- Promotes access to justice
- Advocates for the rule of law
Organization and Structure
The Florida Bar is governed by a Board of Governors. The Board consists of 53 members, including the President, President-Elect, Past President, Treasurer, and 49 other members elected by Florida attorneys.
Membership and Benefits
Membership in The Florida Bar is mandatory for all attorneys who practice law in the state. Bar members enjoy a variety of benefits, including access to continuing legal education, networking opportunities, and insurance programs.
