Early Life and Career
DeMar Darnell DeRozan, born August 7, 1989, is an American professional basketball player. He attended Compton High School in California and was selected ninth overall by the Toronto Raptors in the 2009 NBA Draft.
NBA Career
DeRozan played for the Raptors for nine seasons, averaging 18.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. He was named an NBA All-Star four times and helped the Raptors reach the Eastern Conference Finals in 2016.
In 2018, DeRozan was traded to the San Antonio Spurs. He continued his success in San Antonio, averaging 21.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game. He led the Spurs to the playoffs in both seasons he was with the team.
In 2021, DeRozan signed with the Chicago Bulls. He has become a key player for the Bulls, averaging 24.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game during the 2021-22 season.
Sacramento Kings Acquisition
On February 8, 2023, DeRozan was acquired by the Sacramento Kings in a three-year, $74 million sign-and-trade deal that included moving Buddy Hield to the Indiana Pacers.
